Durga Puja at Bangalore

After missing the chance to attend PyCon India due to some unavoidable reasons, I was just hunting for a place to enjoy (read fool around).  All the day I was at my cousin’s and relatives house and during the evening I called up my elder sister asking her whether she is going for watching Durga Puja. Out of two options - Ulsoor and Koramangala, I opted for the latter.

She came to Marathahalli bridge in her car and I got in. After that I have absolutely no idea which left-right turn she took. I know the route via Ring Road is it is the way all the buses go. Heh! Cars don’t havt that restriction. After taking hundred or left and right turns just to escape the traffic, we reached Koramagala 5th Block (as I heard) where Durga Puja was being celebrated.

The next problem was to park the car. Looked like each and  every person in Bangalore has come down on this auspicious day. After braving the traffic and taking a few more turns inside the colony, there was a place to park the car. Done!

We all 7 people including 2 kids (thankfully they were sweet and silent) entered the premises of the community hall. A lot of food stalls were put up. We first went inside which was less crowded than the food stalls. Everyone was blessed by the diety herself and then we came out for the next mission.

Is it really a crowd or the worshippers were too hungry?

A more close up view

Sometimes, if you have a huge apetite, you would be delighted after having a look at the varieties of stalls. I had corn, pani puri, veg rolls, ice cream, dhokla, rosogulla, cutlet, diet coke and what not. The celebrations was itself blessed by the King of Good Times. Obviously, the Durga Puja celebrations were sponsored by beer.

We, the cattle class

Guess what? The Indian politicians showed that not only are they corrupt, but also lacking wits. Our Shashi Tharoor made a small tweet (yeah max 140 chars are allowed) about the cattle class. He was asked - ‘Tell us Minister, next time you travel to Kerala, will it be cattle class?‘. His witty reply was - ‘‘Absolutely, in cattle class out of solidarity with all our holy cows!“.

Now I am dying to see what was wrong in his tweet. It was sheer wit. I can’t expect other illiterate politicians to attain this level. Yeah, douchebags like Ashok Gehlot surely make noise and ask for resignation. Actually Shashi was correct when he used the term - cattle class. Our politicians need to go in economy class and have a look at the situation. Sleeper and Second class sitting of any train are no better than what Shashi actually described as. The situation of Second Class is really really pathetic. Someone teach they “Holy Cows” isn’t to be taken literally.

Politicians need a month training on English. The million dollar question is can someone teach them how to be witty?

Chill! Its photoshopped

We, the cattle class

If our caring politicians like Ashok Gehlot really think we are offended, they should leave their AC cars and travel by those stuffed buses, travel in Sleeper classes instead of 2nd AC Air. It’s nice to see that people on twitter have hailed his remark and stand in support.

Expert speaks

Meanwhile CNN-IBN ran a discussion panels, put up a snapshot on their article and gave a really confusing caption.

Looks like my English is just too weak

The Heritage

Looks like Idiocy is a national heritage. While writing this post on a Tata Indicom Broadband connection, I got a call from Tata Indicom itself asking whether I need their Broadband connection?

India Votes | WTFness keep pouring in

The Dance of Democracy is on, election fever has gripped the country and people are discussing more freely than ever. Thanks to technology. Coming straight to the point, you would hear a lot of WTF quotes, comment and incidents in this season. Let’s start discussing

Youth kills father for not voting for Chiru

Shocked? Yes, it is! A guy in Andhra Pradesh wanted to his father to vote for Chiranjeevi just because he was a die-hard fan of the superstar. Forget what this super-star knows about politics, but he is still timid when compared to NT RamaRao who is still revered even in North India. (I don’t want to bring North v/s South here). The father votes for Telgu Desham Party and the boy too away his life. Looks fake, still we cant deny such  fanboyism still exists.

Rahul Gandhi gets a chocolate from Amethi people

He quoted:

There, an old woman, whose house and all her belongings and utensils had been charred in the blaze, gave me a chocolate

So he tried to convince the voters that they are so so good. What is the point of the above quote? Is the responsibility of being good on voters or the leaders?

Priyanka Gandhi backs Rahul for Prime Minister

On what basis? Just because he is sweet and good looking? This issue is not only raised by her sister but also from those dumb retarded crap news channels who keep on airing “Rahul Gandhi as PM?”. Agreed he is a young politician, but that has nothing to do with his eligibility as a PM. He has a long way to go. His sister says that she expects her bro as a PM one fine day. This is another horrible example of Family based politics in Congress. Don’t forget that India is a republic and not a monarch!

When it comes to those retarded channels, they are projecting him as the next PM which gives me enough fodder to say “WTF!”. So Manmohan Singh isn’t eligible. o_O  I thought he is the best candidate for PM in UPA. Just give him enough powers and shift the decision making office from “10 Janpath” to PMO and everything in this country would start going fine. Manmohan Singh is 100-1000 times more experienced and eligible than our young leader who is riding on her mother’s shoulder. Her mother has also left her seat for him to contest so that he doesn’t lose(last elections). If we go on by this youngster rule, then Akhilesh Singh Yadav and Dayanidhi Maran are also perfect candidates. The former is highly active in ground level politics and other even has an experience as a minister.

SP vows for talibanisation of India

Yes, that is the real hidden meaning. What does these lines mean after all?

The manifesto says that if a new government were to be formed with SP’s support, it would work to abolish schools providing expensive education in English. He added that wherever work can be done by hand, computers would be abolished

He later retracted saying that is was taken in bad taste. Why not, its an old excuse! Making statements and then retracting saying it misinterpreted is nothing new. It’s an excuse to be in limelight.

Sanjay Dutt: When I was in police custody, I was given third degree because I am the son of a Muslim woman

Sanjay Dutt is booked since he wanted to give a Jadu ki Jhappi to people and CM Mayawati. Can’t say more, read the comments of this fucktard.

He is highly communal because he is publicly saying what he cannot prove. Why does he need to pin point Hindu-Muslims over here? People don’t believe him, he is a pampered idiot son of a great personality.

MotoYuva W270

Well, its for my younger brother who is in class 11. He desperately needed a new cell since the older one wasn’t working properly.
The reason he chose this one was mainly due to Radio, 1GB Mini-SD support and GPRS. BTW he loves flip phones.

So now the total numbers of mobiles in our home totals to 6 out of which 2 arnt of much use. Apart from these 6 we do also have a landline phone which is still one-way to cope with the increasing cost of communications.

Placements !!!

I landed on Manipal on 28th last month and since then just running pillar to pillar. In these last two weeks I didnt leave a single stone unturned to get a job but alas!

As I reached Manipal on 28th morning around 11:30, had a bath and rushed for Sungard exam, but didnt expect much in such a hassle. As usual rejected. Next aim was Cisco which was on 30th. It was very much shocking to see how people madly sat for this company and only 27 got shorlisted for interviews including me. The interviews were worst and all kinds of hardware and weird questions were asked (maybe to reject me). When result were announced I was sure not to be in the list.

Next was Juniper on 1st last week. The written paper went quite well except that I didnt get much time for apti section where I didnt attempt more than 4-5 questions correctly, rest all were guesses. This was one of the exams where I expected much and papers went perfect, still not chance of hope.

The biggest one of all - Yahoo came on 4th of this week. I cleared the written round which contained 20 questions plus one subjective question. Next milestone was a coding round in lab. This was the place where I performed the worst when it comes to output but best when it came to algoritm used. This round cleared and we were advanced to 1st technical interview on the same night. When my chance came, the interview lasted some 40 minutes where I was drilled on UNIX for some 25-30 minutes. Now we 6 people advanced to final round next day. The 2nd technical interview was more than an hour in span where the guy asked me lots of questions but less of PHP,MySQL,UNIX and those stuffs. He liked puzzles, book questions and theory. I tried my best to cope up with such bookish knowledge and succeeded to some extent. At that time my expectations were quite high. Result were declared after an hour and the only word which came to my mind was “Which is the next company”. I have faced 5 rejections in 10 days, its a record in itself :)

Mrinal’s Bday Party

Well! It was my first entry at New DT, the premier and highly regarded restaurant cum bar of Manipal, its the place where are drinkers of Manipal throng to get themselves noticed on weekends. Though am not a drinker, still having a feel of this so called elite place is not an offense.

It was my friend’s Mrinal Bday party, the environment was as nice as it could be, and……… :)
